Fine young cannibals

Yes, I'm aware of what time it is. I'm on a study break. Surfing around the Internets to pass some time 'til my mind clears.

I love you, always forever
Near and far, closer together
Everywhere, I will be with you
Everything, I will do for you

Yes, I said I'm on a study break. Yes. I'm aware of what time it is. What's your point?

I love you, always forever
Near and far, closer together
Everywhere, I will be with you
Everything, I will do for you

Okay. So I've got a friggin' Donna Lewis song stuck in my head. And it's running on repeat. It's annoying enough the first time. But after several hours of it, you start praying for the sweet release of death.

I love you, always forever
Near and far, closer together
Everywhere, I will be with you
Everything, I will do for you

What's especially bad is that I don't know the whole song. Just the chorus. I keep hearing the chorus. Over. And. Over. I can't seem to reach the stop button in my brain.

And I don't even like the song!

I love you, always forever
Near and far, closer together
Everywhere, I will be with you
Everything, I will do for you

It was playing on a TV program earlier today. Just a bit of background noise. And this is how it came to be in my head. I am apparently powerless to remove it.

I love you, always forever
Near and far, closer together
Everywhere, I will be with you
Everything, I will do for you

I thought I might be able to exorcise my demons, if I could just play the entire song from beginning to end. When it finished, the automatic repeat in my head would end. This sometimes works. But I don't know the entire song. Foiled again!

I love you, always forever
Near and far, closer together
Everywhere, I will be with you
Everything, I will do for you

Fortunately, Google allows me to search for lyrics.
Unfortunately, a number of sites contain misheard lyrics.
Fortunately, those can be highly entertaining.

I love you, always forever
Near and far, closer together
Everywhere, I will be with you
Everyday, I will devour you

Unfortunately, the song is still stuck in my head.

Fortunately, now that it's sung by a crazed cannibalistic lover instead of a whiny love-struck sap, I don't mind it quite so much.

Oooo, I hate it when that happens. I once sang 'Hold Me Now' by the Thompson Twins for a MONTH.

ACK! It's starting again! Nooooo!

Have a great weekend!

Just find the peanut butter jelly time song on the youtube. That will clear everything out of your head.

"The sweet release of death." Thanks for that.

goodfather - I once had "Forever Young" (not the Rod Stewart song; the other one) stuck in my head for something like six months. It finally left me, but by then no one I hung out with could stop singing it. It was HORRIBLE!

Heinous - Yeah. Or "Skinna marinky dinky dink" usually does it too. But the idea is to lose the song; not replace it. LOL!

Captain Dumbass - You're totally welcome!

I find that if I find the song, or hear it..it get's out of my brain...but unfortunatly that doesnt seem to work with the HSM songs my kids keep playing....ugh.

That happens to me all the time. Just look it up on youtube and exercise that demon.

I hate weird or awful songs that get stuck in my head. It's worse for you...trying to study, taking a break and dealing with that darn song. I feel for ya!!

The worst are commercials and children's shows...by FAR.

Dawn - Thankfully, my kids are too young for HSM.

Shondra - Sometimes, the YouTube thing works. Sometimes, it actually makes it worse. But not often!

Rhea - I knew a guy who couldn't get the "Franklin the Turtle" theme song out of his head for like a week. Drove him nuts! You're right; that's the worst.
